Code of Conduct

Ministerial Code of Conduct Ministry of Common Sense Spirituality

It is understood that Ministry is a call of service from the Creator Source to an individual. For all intents and purposes herein, it matters not which religious path is chosen by a Minister; what matters is that the Minister has heard the call and walks in service for the good of the whole ~ all people, all living creatures, all beings.

Ministers understand that they are considered public figures and often reside under the watchful eye of the masses, perhaps with considerable scrutiny. Hence, it is understood that a Minister will act according to proper protocol characterised first by Love of All Things and be accepting of guidance of Spirit. A Minister must be fully grounded to the highest degree and act with kindness, justice, care and compassion.

One: Be Above Reproach

Obey all laws of the community. Teach by example.

Two: Practice What You Preach

Exercise caution in the use of alcohol and tobacco. Refrain from addictive and harmful behaviours that bring harm to the Temple of the Body. Refrain from the use of offensive language.

Three: Maintain Professionalism

Always maintain an attitude befitting your profession. Do not misrepresent your competence, qualifications, training or experience. If you don’t know, say so. If you need help, ask for it.

Four: Preserve Confidentiality

Those who offer pastoral care to seekers will maintain strictest confidence and treat information divulged during the course of pastoral care with utmost care. The only exception is where disclosure is required by law under subpoena, or if there are concerns of the safety of the person or others.

Five: Respect All Faiths

There are many and diverse paths to choose from on our journey back to Source. We choose which path works for us, and as such, each path is deserving of respect in that It serves the good of the whole.

Six: Spiritual Code of Honor For Ministers

1. Do No Harm.
2. Do Nothing Without Informed Consent
3. View Each Person as a Whole Person.
4. Remember to Work on Yourself
5. Meditate / Contemplate Daily
6. Make No Claims of Healing; Rather .. Support One’s Ability to Self Heal
.
Seven: Above All Else, Honor Creation

All that we see, feel, smell and touch on the Earthly Plane IS Creation, every tree, every insect, every Being. We, as humans, are as much a part of Creation as are the mountains, the streams, the vast oceans and all life forms that inhabit them. In honouring Creation, we honor the Creator.

Blessings ...

From the Tenets for Spiritual Living ~~ Ministry of Common Sense Spirituality

Quotes From Orders of Angels by Rev. Norbert

Tenets are principles held as truth by a person, a group or organization. We will be exploring the Tenets of the Ministry of Common Sense Spirituality created by Rev. Norbert in 1999 which spiritual truths we offer to all beings as meditation tools and as seeds for contemplation. Weekly, we will take one of the Tenets to ruminate upon, digest its spiritual meaning and review how to apply it to our lives in the now. Please join us weekly on the United Ministers Blog.

Tenet No. One – Care for others as much as you want to be cared for.

From the time when we were born, we have been cared for by others. First, the nurses, or mid-wives who attended our birth, hold and cuddle us before we are handed over to our mothers, who cuddle and coo at us in loving amazement. We come into the world being well taken care of and .. it is a good feeling, one that is intended to carry forward through out our lives.

Sometimes, as we grow, life impacts us in ways that may alter our ability to recognize that others need care, as well ~~ not just us ~~ we are not isolated islands once the umbilical cord severs our dependence upon our mothers. We still have a dependence upon others for basic human needs.

It is a 50/50 proposition ~~ a ‘quid pro quo’, if you will, to return the emotions that are given to us. The kindness, the courtesies, the love we expect to be given to ourselves, is also expected to be returned in kind . You may have often heard that you get out of life what you put into it, and from the smaller view point this is correct. From the higher perspective, this ‘quid pro quo’ mentality registers 100 fold, meaning that what we give out as one heart is returned to us from many, many hearts.

This give and take activity has been said to make the world go round and in a figurative way, indeed it does. Caring for others in the manner in which we wish to be cared for exemplifies the very basis of unconditional love because it reflects the love we feel for ourselves back out into the world. And, loving ourselves is tantamount to loving others.

Many blessings to all in Love, Light and Sound …

Abraham-Hicks Quote for Today: Your emotion, your indicator of vibration, is indicating the ratio between your currently focused desire and any other belief or thought that you hold about same. When you feel negative emotion, anger about something, or fear... the name of the emotion does not matter, it always means that there is a desire within you that, in this moment, you are contradicting with some other thought. Your emotions are always about your relationship wi… Continue

Abraham-Hicks Quote for Today: People say. "If I'm always setting goals and reaching for the future, then am I not squandering my now?" And we say if in your now you're using a future event to make you feel good, you are still feeling good in your now. And that's the best use of now that you could ever find.

RE: wedding ceremonies

Hi,

I am just beginning as a minister and and am new to this site.

I have been asked to perform a wedding ceremony.

I was wondering if anyone has ideas or guidelines for me. This wedding is going to be held on the beach in florida and I have found some interesting Celtic ceremonies.

Please let me know of any advice or ideas which would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Deborah

Sickness

I awaken this morning in my heart there is pain
My sun has gone down all is left is the rain
I feel so often bereft I am sick and alone
Where could God be, can I reach him by phone
You said that you love me beyond what I can know
If this is love it sure sucks my spirit is so low
Pain is my companion fear is my friend
I am so sadly mortal and ever near is the end
My life is now forfeit disease is at hand
Killing me destroying me where do you stand
Suddenly a light and a glow full of love
As my ey… Continue
